Greetings to member companies. I am extremely honored that you have put your trust in me to lead the PGCVFRA. It is very humbling to serve as the President of this fine organization. My focus is making things better for the Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians that serve, without any expectation of compensation, the residents/visitors of Prince George's County.

I started as a Volunteer Firefighter at the age of 16 just outside of Pittsburgh PA (go Steelers) and continued my now Volunteer career with the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department (Co.10) when I moved to the great city of Laurel. That was a few decades ago now as time never slows. Over that time I've thoroughly enjoyed the comradery, friendships, and firefighting experiences of serving as a Volunteer. It gives me energy. During that same time, I also served the nation for 40+ years as a career Intelligence Officer in the Department of Defense. My leadership experience says strong leaders listen, learn, and execute informed decisions. Rarely should a leader make a decision in a vacuum. The Prince George's County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and our member Volunteer Corporations are an integral part of the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department. As such, we need to stay relevant in what we bring to the public safety challenges of our residents and visitors. That takes the concerted efforts of all 36 Volunteer Fire/EMS Corporations both at the station level and as a group.

I look forward to working with all of the Volunteer Corporations in the coming year and expect together, we will ensure the Volunteer fire service in this County remains strong and resilient. What we do matters!

Vic
