We would all like to welcome Eugene Jones and the experience he brings to our leadership group in his new role as 2nd Vice President of the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association. Due to limitations during our Convention we will be sharing introductions from our leadership team.
Thoughts from Eugene Jones...
My winning attitude can be traced to my association with the Pittsburg Steelers. As a long time Steeler fan I can recognize what it takes to be successful. Being a part of a winning organization means a lot. What makes an organization successful begins with members having a winning attitude.
Stepping on volunteer citizens who want to serve have become the norm. There is no shame in crushing the little guy in this new fire service society. The PGCVRA will return to its winning ways by encouraging members to not give up. We want our members to remember that the forces seeking to destroy them have been trying for fifty years. It is a testament to the volunteer spirit.
I am proud to serve in the PGCVFRA. The is no other organization in the Prince George’s County Fire Service with as rich a tradition as the PGCVFRA. The turmoil heaped upon the members of the PGCVFRA only serves to highlight the character and the dedication of volunteer members. The President and the Board will continue to work to give ordinary citizens the opportunity to serve themselves and their community. We will empower our members to take control of their future and enable them to make decisions about protecting the communities they live, work and play in. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of an organization made up of multimillion dollar corporations that has the support of Federal, State and local officials, dedicated to activities of saving lives and property?
I appreciate the opportunity provided to me by the members and the corporations which represent them. Thanks to all that made this a reality for me. The reality of service.
