Members of the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association,

As we head into the holiday season this year, we are reminded of all the things we are thankful for, our families, friends, and health. One of the themes I will be reflecting upon is the dedication and selflessness of all of you the volunteers who give so freely of yourselves. Each day members of the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association contribute to this County whether it’s responding to emergency calls, visiting and comforting the sick, or engaging with other groups within the community. Often times these deeds go unnoticed or are perhaps taken for granted. I would like to acknowledge all that you do and say thank you for making this community great. It is done without fanfare or recognition, yet it truly is appreciated.

Last holiday season the PGCVFRA was able to once again find a way to give back to our community by donating approximately 70 bicycles and helmets to Toys for Tots. This year I would like to challenge each department and all of the members to out due themselves once again. We will be collecting bicycles during the PGCVFRA monthly meeting on December 14 hosted by Berwyn Heights Volunteer Fire Department at Branchville Volunteer Fire Company. The goal is to have at least one bicycle from each company. Let's see if we can't top last year's total!

If there are any questions regarding the Toys for Tots Bicycle Challenge or if you need any assistance in having the bikes delivered to Branchville VFC on/before December 14, please do not hesitate to contact me at (240) 320-4002 or at BCavanaugh@laurelvfd.org.

Thank you again for all that this group does! You are the backbone of your community.

Very respectfully,

Brian J. Cavanaugh, 2nd Vice President
